07 Jan 2024: New Year 2024

The holiday season is over, and the League is back in business with two matches this Tuesday 9th January.  The Town Arms sees a visit from the NHS team as they take on Selkirk;  and Kelso are "at home" to Gala, though the match will be played in the Focus Centre.

Meanwhile, we have two Borders Individual results:  in the Minor section, Sam Cornwell and Logan Symons drew their second round match, and in the second round of the Championship, Ian Whittaker defeated Dave Bogle.

The home of Selkirk Chess Club

Selkirk Chess Club meet every Tuesday at 7pm in the Town Arms, just off Selkirk Square.  We do not meet in the bar itself but in the upstairs function room, and are there most Tuesdays unless we are playing away matches (a list of matches is on this page...).

As you can see, we occupy a fairly spacious room above the main bar of the Town Arms. It is a friendly club, and we always welcome new chessplayers.
