04 Mar 2025: Two results from the BICC Minor Section

A correction: we initally reported Gardiner v Moore as being a draw. It was not. Here is the corrected article:

We have two results from the final round of the BICC minor section: John Moore beat Mark Gardiner, and Sam Cornwell beat Keith Robinson.  The crosstable has been updated and can be viewed on the BICC page...

League news is that the NHS v Selkirk B match took place on 26th Feb, with NHS running out winners by 2½-1½. One piece of good news for Selkirk was the fierce attack that Sam Cornwell directed against Keith Robinson's King, forcing Keith's resignation one move before mate. This game is on the matches page...

Meanwhile the Selkirk Championship is being played. Details on the Club News page...

The 5th round pairings for the Borders Individual Minor section are now available. George Birbeck is the player to get a bye, and the other pairings will decide the Championship.
