Geoff Hope and John Moore opened their accounts by sharing the points. Mark Gardiner defeated Alan Armstrong in a game which went to a pawn ending. Chris Nathan put up a gallant defence against higher rated Sam Cornwell, which took Sam to move 48, to finally come out victorious. While Tam Wylie defeated Steve Leckie.

In the final game which looked as it would go to Kevin Poulton, a blunder to lose his rook, put Alex right back into it and a draw was agreed.

We had a friendly (ungraded) lightning tournament last night. 10 seconds on the buzzer, which produced a heck of a lot of blunders. It was all very enjoyable though, so well done to winner Mark Gardiner, and to everyone else who played.
